You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Monday 29. March 2021

Laurdag la det seg nysnø/fokksnø ned mot 700 moh. MiIdvêr fredag fukta snøoverflata opp mot 1000 moh. Under denne høgda er snøen våt og delvis smelteomdanna. Over mildvêrsgrensa blåste nysnøen inn i nordvendte leformasjonar. Det ligg mest fokksnø i leheng mot nord og aust. Det er lite snø for årstida, og under tregrensa er det lite snø.

Vedvarande svakt lag frå kuldeperioda i januar/februar kan framleis vere eit problem nokre stedar over 1300 moh.

Søndag vart det observert skred frå Nonsnibba i Kjenndalen. Skredet har starta høgt i fjellet.

25 mm precipitation, up to 45 mm in the most exposed areas. Fresh breeze from south, changing to moderate gale from the southwest during renoon. -4 °C to 4 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Tuesday 30. March 2021

15 mm precipitation, up to 25 mm in the most exposed areas. Breeze from southwest. -4 °C to 1 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Snøfall og vind frå sørvest vil danne mjuke nysnøflak i nordaustvendte leformasjonar der ein skikøyrar kan løyse ut skred. Skredproblemet er truleg mest aktuelt over mildvêrsgrensa frå i går. Der nysnø legg seg på fuktig overflate vil stabilisering gå relativt raskt.

Høgt til fjells kan det i enkelte heng framleis vere svakt lag av kantkorn djupt i snødekket. Det er usikkert om laget framleis er eit aktuelt problem.
